We care about your privacy and want to share with you everything we do with your personal data. Within Cibus' Privacy Policy, you can verify your rights, what data we process and with whom we share it, how long we retain it, and many other details.
We certify that this Policy is as transparent and concise as possible. It is important that you read it carefully, because the privacy we guarantee is complete only when your knowledge is complete as well.
We also recommend reading the full Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, also known as the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter, GDPR), where you can inform yourself in more detail about your rights in the field of privacy and personal data protection.
CIBUS S.R.L., with legal headquarters in Via Pomposa n. 153, 44123 Ferrara (FE), Italy, and operational office at Unite Office – 7th floor, Rosenheimer Str. 116A, 81669 Monaco di Baviera, Germany, represented by the legal representative pro tempore Mr. Matteo Melina, is dedicated to developing software and services for nutrition, and its mission is to make the world healthier by improving, educating, and influencing people's relationship with food.
Cibus is a tool that allows nutrition professionals to manage their work, their clients, and their relationship with them in a holistic manner, particularly through a mobile application.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users who use Cibus' nutritional consultation services as Clients ("Users"). Within these services, Cibus may be considered, in light of the GDPR, as Joint Controller or Data Processor of Users' personal data.
The collection and processing of data are fundamental to the operation of Cibus' nutritional consultation service. Our project is built on this data. In this context, Cibus processes your data for the following purposes:
Registration on Cibus allows us to properly identify the User and correctly associate them with Professionals and desired consultations. We may request the following data: first and last name, sex, country of residence, date of birth, email address, and mobile number. The legal basis is the execution of the contract and Cibus' legitimate interest, under Art. 6, No. 1, lett. b) and f) of the GDPR.
The main objective of the service is to allow the User to book remote nutritional consultations and nutritional monitoring with a Professional. To make this possible, Cibus makes the User's personal data relevant to booking the consultation available to the Professional. The legal basis is the execution of the contract and Cibus' legitimate interest.
Cibus may send direct communications, via email or through notifications and SMS, related to the service provided, such as: consultation reminders; professional outreach; new service announcements. The legal basis is Cibus' legitimate interest.
This type of data collection is mainly aimed at facilitating our team's work whenever you need our assistance and support, and at collecting information regarding platform usage. The legal basis is consent (for cookies) and Cibus' legitimate interest.
When the Client chooses to integrate Google applications with the Cibus app (Health Connect, Google Fit, or Google Calendar), personal data from these applications may be collected. This data is used exclusively to enrich the nutritional monitoring experience. The processing is based on the Client's explicit consent, which is free to revoke at any time.
Cibus will retain your data only for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes defined in this Policy or for the period provided by applicable legislative or regulatory standards. User data is maintained until the account is deleted at the User's request. From that moment, all personal data is permanently deleted.
It is important to emphasize that Cibus is completely foreign to the processing of personal data carried out by the Professional, therefore the deletion of data relating to the User's Cibus account does not imply the simultaneous elimination of personal data processed by the Professional.
Some of the information you provide us may be processed by third parties external to our team. We have limited this sharing to the minimum necessary:
Cibus may aggregate, anonymize, or de-identify your personal data, ensuring that it cannot reasonably be used to identify you individually. Data processed in this way may be used for statistical purposes, for scientific research activities, or for the development of knowledge in the health and nutrition field. The processing will be carried out in compliance with the principles of data minimization, anonymization, and security, in accordance with the GDPR.
We want to ensure that your rights are fully respected:
The security of your data and the services we provide is one of our top priorities. We regularly analyze our platforms and related servers to ensure that all measures are taken to mitigate security risks, using the most current encryption, surveillance, and monitoring techniques.
Cibus' Privacy Policy is subject to constant and periodic review. We advise you to visit this page regularly and follow the latest updates. We will notify you whenever we make substantial changes that may compromise your rights.
